Pilea glauca ‘Blue Baby Tears’
Pilea glauca ‘Blue Baby Tears’ is a delicate, trailing houseplant prized for its tiny, round, blue-green leaves with a silvery sheen. It creates a beautiful cascading effect and works especially well in hanging baskets, terrariums, or on shelves where its trailing stems can spill over the edge.
🌿 Care Guide
Light: Bright, indirect light. It can tolerate some lower light, but growth may become sparse.
Water: Keep the soil lightly and consistently moist, but never soggy. Allow the surface to dry slightly between waterings.
Humidity: Enjoys moderate to high humidity and benefits from good airflow.
Soil: Use a light, well-draining mix. A peat- or coco-based houseplant mix amended with perlite works well.
Temperature: Preferably 18–27°C (65–80°F). Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below about 13°C (55°F).
Growth: Fast-growing when happy, with trailing stems that can be trimmed to encourage fuller growth.
Pet Safety: Generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs.
