🌿 Sansevieria ‘Moonshine’
Sansevieria ‘Moonshine’—now commonly classified as Dracaena trifasciata ‘Moonshine’—is a beautiful snake plant known for its silvery-gray, almost frosted-green leaves. Its clean, upright form makes it a striking and very low-maintenance houseplant.
☀️ Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal, but it tolerates lower-light conditions. Avoid intense afternoon sun, which can scorch the pale leaves.
💧 Water: Allow the soil to dry completely before watering. Water thoroughly and let excess water drain away. Water much less frequently during winter.
🌱 Soil: Use a fast-draining cactus or succulent mix. Avoid heavy soils that retain moisture.
💦 Humidity: Average household humidity is perfect. No special humidity requirements.
🌡️ Temperature: Prefers 18–29°C (65–85°F). Protect from cold temperatures and drafts.
🪴 Growth: Upright and clumping, with broad, sword-shaped leaves in a distinctive silvery-green color. New shoots develop from underground rhizomes.
✂️ Propagation: Best propagated by division. Leaf cuttings are also possible, although variegation and cultivar characteristics may not always be preserved.
⚠️ Common mistake: Avoid frequent watering. Overwatering is the most common cause of problems, especially when the plant is kept in low light.
⭐ Difficulty: Very easy
🌿 Growth habit: Upright, clumping
🎨 Feature: Silvery, frosted-green foliage
