Calathea Zebra is a striking tropical houseplant known for its large, velvety green leaves decorated with bold, feather-like dark green stripes. The dramatic foliage gives this plant a lush, jungle-inspired look and makes it a beautiful statement piece indoors.
🌱 Light: Bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
💧 Water: Keep the soil consistently lightly moist, allowing the top inch to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid letting the plant sit in standing water.
💦 Humidity: High humidity is best—ideally 60%+. It may develop crispy edges in dry indoor air.
🌡️ Temperature: Prefers warm temperatures around 18–27°C. Keep away from drafts, heaters, and cold windows.
🪴 Soil: Use a rich, airy, well-draining mix that holds moisture without becoming waterlogged. Coco coir or peat, perlite, and orchid bark make a good combination.
🌿 Growth: Forms a lush, upright clump and can grow approximately 60–90 cm tall indoors with good care.
🐾 Pet Friendly: Considered non-toxic to cats and dogs.
⭐ Care Tip: Calathea Zebra appreciates consistent moisture and humidity. Filtered, distilled, or rainwater can help reduce brown leaf tips caused by sensitivity to minerals in tap water.
